Mrs Tracey Chong

After leaving University of Surrey with an English degree in 1991 and in pursuit of London living, Tracey decided on a PGCE at Kingston University, closely followed by a master’s in English and Linguistics. She started her career in Putney in a state primary and has held many posts in her 28 years of teaching. Coinciding with a house move, Tracey started teaching in Richmond. Before joining Surbiton High School in 2020, she had taught nursery through to Year 8 and tutored Maths and English GCSE. Tracey held various posts, including Head of Pre-Prep, Deputy Head, Head of Teaching and Learning and Head of English.

Tracey was lead moderator for Kingston and Richmond for EYFS and is also a trustee for a children’s charity. Out of term time, Tracey can be found spending time with her family. She loves travelling and if lost in action, could be found in Majorca. Tracey loves the creative arts and enjoys galleries, architectural tours and city trips. Her ‘on the quiet’ past time is creating wedding flowers and cycling to 80’s tunes on her Peloton bike!
